Glad you had a smooth outcome. Please know, also, that you can decline to stand in front of the camera. I always decline. Some of our dear airport employees don't care while some get overly testy, making me think there's something I don't know about - a quota? a reward for talking people into it?? Don't know, but it's not required. I also decline X-rays and get a pat-down. In small airports and internationally, there are often metal detectors which I find acceptable. But x-rays? No thanks. No need for that toxic assault.

Take your passport with you, even if traveling by automobile. We just returned from a family vacation which involved an 11 hour automobile trip. During the trip, the family dog's health failed quickly and discussion of euthanasia was on the table. The likely person to leave the vacation for this had no Real ID. The passport would've sufficed. As it turned out, the dog rallied a bit, but it reminded us to be prepared for such an eventuality!

Passports have chips in them so I don’r know if there’s any “real”difference. They get you one way or another.

Aren't you NOT supposed to do the camera thing? There have been numerous warnings against that. Decline to have your face scanned.

Thanks for the heads up. If I decline, can I give them the reason why I'm declining? Just like to be able to defend my position and also educate people.

Found some info on those leidos machines in airports. Hope this helps shed.some light. Can't find the info I was looking for, though.

I traveled through Tampa airport the end of March. Real ID was not in effect yet but they still had the face scanners. I didn't give a reason, I simply stated I did not want to. There were signs posted saying you could decline "photo". The TSA guy was a little snarky that he would have to make a little bit of effort but otherwise I had no problem.

You can just say you don't want things to become like 1984 and laugh it off.

You don’t have to give a reason. No means no. See Peggy Hall on YT on this subject. The Healthy American channel

I like to give reasons for the things that I do because this helps others to get RedPilled or educated, or whatever you wanna call it.

That's what I have read on other Substacks. Say no to the facial recognition scan.

In the state of Texas, they implemented this years ago and when issuing drivers license renewals, it was done automatically. Interestingly, I was not asked for any additional identification, my expiring license was sufficient for their needs. Texas must have implemented this right after they first came up with the concept and before most of us had a clue what it was. My license was renewed in 2019…in 2 years when I’m up for renewal again, I’ll be checking to see if I can get a license without the Read ID designation.

Last time I got my license, bout 6/7 years ago, I think, I didn't have whatever they wanted for a "Real ID." The license branch employee and my spouse were in a tizzy, because I "needed" the "Real ID" to fly. I kept telling them that I won't fly and I didn't care. Spouse knows I'm afraid of flying, and wanted to force the issue, because they enjoy me being upset/mad. I didn't get the "Real ID," much to their chagrin. I have my passport and so I'm good.

Just Say NO to the facial rec camera. It’s not a legal requirement, and you can say “I Opt Out!”……..just be polite. TSA knows you can Opt Out. And don’t walk through any body scanner. Again, say “I Opt Out”. Don’t give the surveillance state any more fuel for their fire. Your body will thank you!

I am with you on less governmental control. However, since we already have a social security number, we're all in the system anyway. I'm at a loss over how another "paper" (i.e., I am NOT saying digital ID -- a whole other story that is clearly different) ID means even more control (which, again, I am thoroughly against... WEF can go wef themselves.) Sadly, I got a REAL ID years ago before I was awake and had to renew my driver's license. (( sigh ))

I just HATE! To give ours or any government any more info or perceived control (actually they are way over their skis since US Constitution does not allow this but they have taken it!! Learn Common Law folks and take back control of our government.) but, that facial recognition thing can also be refused and I do ALWAYS. I fly often.

Alas, until God saves us from these over reaching policies I’m afraid we are in the system they have created.

In 2021 I officially changed my State residence to Texas from Nevada. At the driver's license office I was given the run around and ended up needing 7 pieces of UD to get a TX license. I threw a fit that was not pretty, Lol, but ended up producing the multiple ID list. Long story short- not one single person told me I was getting a Real ID. They just badgered me for more ID. Two weeks ago, I found out all TX drivers MUST have it since 2021. I found out I had gotten a real ID in 2021. No one told me when I threw a fit at their office. Most Government employees are total as.....s and will make your life difficult if you demand to know anything.

You're worried about RealID but you have a passport and you stood in front of the facial recognition scanner/picture taker?

So it appears through facial recognition (thank your smart phone for that) it recognized that all the proof you provided was correct. Aren’t you glad they have those huge data centers with most of your data to prove who you are!!

Thank you for this information. I have used my passport for travel for a long time as it is a uniform form of identity versus many states having slightly different forms and I wanted to make it "hopefully" a more seamless process getting through security. I'm not sure how less intrusive a form of identification it is but my gut said to avoid getting the realID if possible.
