I use CD to sanitize my produce. After soaking it in 1 tsp baking soda to 2 C water to remove dirt and pesticides, I rinse and then soak it in CD. This makes produce last much longer, especially berries and other types that tend to go bad quickly. I use 20 drops activated in 1/4 cup water, then add that to about 4- 6 cups of rinse water.

Is ClO2 used for municipal water treatment? Where? If not, why not? If what I read about it is true, it could have major health benefits at low levels.

It is used for municipal water treatment in quite a few communities in the United States. It is one of the main water treatment disinfectants used in European countries. The only prohibitive side is the cost is higher than standard chlorination.

Average cost for chlorination: $0.0375 per 1,000 gallons

Average cost for chlorine dioxide: $0.096 per 1,000 gallons

So Chlorine Dioxide is about 150% more expensive than standard chlorination.

Now I am curious. I am old (3-score+13), take no meds, still smoke tobacco and drink beer; and take a wide variety of vitamins/minerals, antioxidants, anti-Spike (S1) enzymes, and anti-Pfizer/ Moderna substances (Curcumin, Bromelain, Papain, nattokinase, lumbrokinase, etc). Does stomach acid vary in any sort of substantial way due to aging or what food-drinks is swallowed (?) as one may add CD to the mix? I am the only non-Pfizer/Moderna/RSV vaccinated in my 3-generational marital family(but I do get affected by them). I experiment with all the non-Pharm substances to see how it affects me, to recommend them to family to increase their longevity and wellbeing.

Yes, stomach acid is produced less well as we age. You can activate Sodium Chlorite with hydrochloric acid before diluting and drinking - this is what most people do, and ensures the problem you are envisaging doesn't occur.

You need to read Jim Humble's book, and/or Andreas Kalcher's website, and/or Curious Outlier's course, to educate yourself thoroughly before taking the stuff. It is powerful and safe when used correctly, but needs to be understood.

Alternatively (if you can't stand the smell of CDS) you could swallow a HCL capsule first with water, I suppose (but personally I wouldn't want to do this without finding out whether others have done it successfully and whether there are recommended precautions).

Could a similar procedure be used to sanitize the water holding tank of a travel trailer?

I'm using just the sodium chlorite powder without activation...doesn't it work as well?

Expand full comment
Curious Outlier's avatar

Not for water purification. It works well for internal use because your stomach acid will activate it.

Ok... but aren't the water purification tablets that are used when travelling the same thing?

In another subject- can I use diluted apple juice with activated MMS when I’m sick of the taste or will vitamin C from apple juice cause it to deactivate

Curious Outlier's avatar

Just tried taking it unactivated. Your stomach acid will activate it. Read this.

8 ppm ClO₂ inactivates 99.96% of SARS-CoV-2 within 10 seconds, and higher concentrations (e.g., 80 ppm) can reduce viral infectivity to below detection limits almost instantly. The effect is robust, even in the presence of organic matter like serum.

24 ppm ClO₂ achieves more than 99.99% inactivation of SARS-CoV-2 within 10 seconds to 1 minute, withstanding some organic load (such as fetal bovine serum).

Lower concentrations, such as 0.8–1 ppm, result in a 1-log₁₀ (90%) viral reduction over several minutes—significantly less effective than higher concentrations
